Santa Fe Waldorf School Current Status:

After 40 years of providing Waldorf education in Santa Fe, the Board of Trustees determined, due to low enrollment, that the School did not have sufficient revenue to sustain operations for the 2023-24 school year.

If you need a transcript please email info@santafewaldorf.org. In your transcript requests, please be sure to include the name of the person to whom the transcript(s) should be sent and their address(es), either email or physical address.

The Board of Trustees is managing the sale of the high school building and 5-acre property. The goal is to retain the lower school buildings, Hooper Hall and surrounding 8-acre property. If you are interested in joining the Board, please email board@santafewaldorf.org.

Waldorf Education Initiatives and Summer Programs!

There are many possibilities being discussed about the future of Waldorf education and how the Santa Fe Waldorf School campus can be best utilized for the Santa Fe community.

Early Childhood Classroom for 2024-25 School Year
We are excited to announce a sweet reseeding of the land with the simple beauty and rhythm of a Waldorf Early Childhood class. After a season of quiet dreaming, this offering is inspired by the heartfelt desire from the community to come together again and enliven our imaginations anew.

The program is open for students 3-6 years old, based on potty training and school readiness. Class will begin the week of September 3, 2024 and end May 30, 2025.

We will start in the Fall with a 3-day class, T-Th. If there is a need for an additional day, we are open to adding Mondays starting in January for an additional fee. At this time, due to small class size, we do not have a half day option, although you are welcome to pick up your child after lunch any of the days as long as the teachers know what to expect.

Please print and fill out the application, include a check made out to the Santa Fe Waldorf School for $50 and mail it to:

EC at SFWS

26 Puesta del Sol

Santa Fe, NM 87508

A deposit of $600 plus $490 in materials fees will be due with a signed contract.  Plus any tuition payments to that date (see application for details).

* Deposits and fees will be fully refundable if we do not have the required enrollment to sustain this program.

The Teachers will receive your applications and then set a time to meet with you and your child. We will do our best to accommodate all who are interested and committed to the developmental wisdom of the Waldorf curriculum. Contracts will be sent out after the meet up.

We are always happy to engage in conversation around your child. Please send any questions to kwhitcomb@santafewaldorf.org.

Charter School Option
A group of former Waldorf parents and teachers of SFWS have formed a Waldorf Charter Committee. They have submitted a ‘Notice of Intent to Submit a Charter Application’ to the NMPED for a Waldorf Charter School in Santa Fe located on the original campus of the former Santa Fe Waldorf School on Puesta Del Sol. The Notice of Intent, which outlines the goals and pedagogy of our proposed Charter School, can be found here.

If you are interested in joining the Waldorf Charter committee, please email dwendland@santafewaldorf.org

THANK YOU!

To all of you who came out to support this initiative at the Community Input Hearing. Your presence was much appreciated! We should hear whether we are granted a charter by August 15th.

Community Council
A group of former Waldorf parents and teachers and home-school parents are exploring how to provide enrichment opportunities, such as festivals and after school programming, for Santa Fe families and home-school groups who are interested Waldorf education. To date, the council has organized an advent festival in December and a Mayfaire.

If you are interested in council activities, please email info@santafewaldorf.org.
